For several decades churches, groups, and individuals in the South Carolina United Methodist Conference have shown their unity and care for each other through the Church Extension Partnership.  Gifts to the CEP are used to help small membership churches (average attendance under 50) with physical needs for their church buildings and parsonage. Each year we have three calls, asking churches, pastors, groups, and partners to make a special gift to support these churches. Thank you for all you do for Christ and the church!

The Lenten Call this year is for Trinity UMC in Smoaks. This church a historic congregation located in the Walterboro District. Although they have an average attendance of 9, they serve their small community in great ways, providing special services for holidays. They pay 100% of all apportionments and serve their local community through many programs. Their building is in great need due to the windstorms that struck the Lowcountry last year. Siding, roofing, paint, and stained glass window repair are among their needs. Please be generous with your gifts.

How To Give

A letter about this "call" is sent to all clergy and to those who have given to CEP in the past.

You may also give through your local church or individually.

Checks can be made out to the Conference Office or to CEP, earmarked the donation for CEP and mailed to:
PO Box 3787
Columbia, SC 29230
Attn: Treasurer

The money is collected from one “call” to another, and sent to the recipient at the end of the call. That is, the Advent 2008 call lasted until we sent out the letters for Lent and this call will last until we send out letters for the conference call (usually during annual conference).
